Reflection of Eagle Part II (Beak)

BEAK

Design to devour food
Eagle’s Beak has almost the same length as its head. As with other birds, eagle’s beak is design to help devour its favorite food; fish.

Long beak with hook for use of tearing up carcasses
Eagle has a long beak with the tip resembling a hook. This hook-shaped beak utilize for pulling and tearing up its prey.

Application:
Beak represents our mouth and our words.
Just as beak is one of the important parts of an eagle, mouth is also an important part of our body.

Two potential powers in believers.
There are two potential in believer which are; potential power in words and in action. Jesus Christ is our High Priest or mediator upon our words. In Revelation 12:11, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” It is stated that the characteristic of winning church is a church that defeats satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the words of their testimony.

Testimony is the main priority in our life.
Words of testimony are the main priority in our life because there is never a day without talking. Human is able to fast by not eating and not drinking for few days but we are not able stop conversing for a few days. Do you know that we communicate approximately 30,000 words in a day? From those 30,000 words, was it positive words that came out of our mouth?

We always impart life when we talk.
People are blessed, healed and strengthened, because they speak of the almighty words of God. If people just clam up, there will never be a life impartation and power. Mighty children of God that resemble the eagle are those whose words are always encouraging. In contrary, weak children of God are those who always weakened others by their words. Be aware that our words have an amazing power. People are healed and strengthened by our words, but also not a few that are crushed and hurt because of our words. Mighty children of God generate powerful and encouraging word. Be cautious with your every word. Go and get your destiny.

Reflection of the eagle

Eagle is mention 38 times in the Bible; this is much more than any other bird such as dove, swallow and crow.
There are a lot of positive points this bird possesses compare to the other:

  1. An adult eagle has body height that reach 90cm with the length of wings spread out wide reaches 4 meters long (each wing is 2 meter in length).
  2. Eagle’s method of building its own nest in high mountains has its own uniqueness. Mass of eagle’s nest reaches 700 kg and is able to comfortably accommodate up to two human being to sleep in it.
  3. Eagle’s body part, food and lifestyle become things that are very unique for us to study.

We can observe and learn a few aspects from eagle that we could reflect upon our life as a Christian. For the message this week, we will study one part of the eagle’s body; the eye.

Eagle’s Eye
So far, the most important sense for the eagle is its sight. All eagles are known for its extraordinary eyesight. We will see several advantages of eagle’s eyes:

  • Unique eyes that can see what is on its front and side at the same time.
  • It is 24 times sharper than human eyes
  • Ability to observe its prey from a distance of 1000 feet, in other words, it is able to see rabbit from 1 mile distance.
  • Eagle is able to see fish from hundred feet high and ready to dive with unbelievable speed.
  • On its eyelids, eagle has nitrating membrane, which functions as cleaner. Every 3 to 4 seconds, this membrane move from the front to the back of the eyes to clean dirt from its corneas.

Life application:
As eyes are the most important part of the eagle, the same holds true that eyes are the most important part of our body. Two important lessons that we can gain are:

1. Always keep our eyes clean.

Bible said, “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22)

Eyes are the first part of our body to receive any stimulation from the outside environment. Hence, to keep the life of our eyes clean from all the dirt of the earth is our responsibility because eye is the lamp of the body. Protect the hygiene of your eyes.

2. Keeping the eyes sharp to see a vision

Vision is something very important for a believer. Vision (In Hebrew: Chazown, meaning: to look upon, to look mentally, to reflect on future obstacles with joy. In Greek: Skopos, Optasia, meaning: a sign to focus our point of view, like a runner aiming for the finish line (Phil 3:13-14). The biggest obstacle in our Christian life is our eyes that went blind and our ears that went deaf and unable to capture great things that God has given to us. We are no longer expecting great things in our life. When we don’t have vision, we will live in a wild life. We always need to exercise the sharpness of our eyes to see our vision. We must have a big vision or target in our life regarding of what we hope for 5 or even 10 years from now.

Question that we can reflect upon is; Do you have a vision in your life?

Guard the sharpness of your eyes. All the best for all of you. Go and get your destiny.

Life without Limit

All things are possible through the name of Jesus (Matt. 19:26, “And Jesus looking upon `them' said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible”). God is able to do that which quite exceeds all created power; that nothing is too hard for God. With men it is impossible that so strong a stream should be turned, so hard a heart softened, so stubborn a will bowed. It is a creation, it is a resurrection, and with men this is impossible; it can never be done by philosophy, medicine, or politics; but with God all things are possible. The beginning, progress, and perfection, of the work of salvation, depend entirely upon the almighty power of God, to which all things are possible. Faith is wrought by that power (Eph. 1:19), and is kept by it, 1 Pt. 1:5.
“Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of `things' in heaven and `things' on earth and `things' under the earth,” (Phil. 2:9-10). There is power to overcome everything in the world through the name of Jesus. God lifted him up from the grave to the heavens, gave all power into his hands (Matt.28:18)
, and gave him a name above every name. The idea is an authority, a position, above that of all intelligences. This exaltation made the humble name, Jesus, a name above every name.

Life without limit, God will do everything if you will dare to believe. Only Believe!!
God Bless You all,
Chris - Lydia
